Ajuricaba, his fight has never been and will not be abandoned. Amazon must be free land, a freedom that is finished. Damn human greed, the war was marked and is imminent. This new people advances and dominates. In the eye and in the mind, each tribe has a choice: Fight, Death, Freedom or submission and an finished life. Ajuricaba. To be miserable, to sell yourself? Never! But this terrible enemy, always manipulates reality, strengthens itself, equipped with the lie that hides... This is how the warrior spirit was shed Showing the value of the true fight. Symbol of an entire cause of one and other fights against brutal oppression. Resist is instinctive animal attitude, which is the basis of the libertarian world. Every farce leads to revolt, every law leads to extermination. Where did the brothers of Ajuricaba are hiding? Now not all the forest, nor all the darkness of the night will be enough to hide the shame of his treachery and his fear; Not all the water in the river will be sufficient to drain the weeping of the fathers, whose children have turned their backs to true courage; Only vengeance will rest the souls of those who fought to the end; Only revenge will placate the pain of so many dead children. The land has always been wounded by imperialist men, specialists in atrocity. The genocide! irrational, religious, nationalist crimes. That cause us indignity. Ajuricaba! Our fight will never be forgotten! Ajuricaba! He showed every creature the value of freedom! Our fight will never be forgotten! Ajuricaba! Nossa luta nunca será esquecida! Ajuricaba!

Historical narrative about Ajuricaba.
(by Corubo)

Beginning of 1700, ambitious and artful, the Portuguese advance up by navigation and are entering into the meandering Rio Negro, the largest and most extensive Black water river in the world, son of Boiúna, and the second-largest in volume of water — only behind the giant Amazonia river, which helps to train — in the search for more and more indigenous slaves to maintain their lifestyles and expand the colonial constructions that abbreviate nature in mono-sisifa culture, eternally tax-owed, and yet, in spite of that, also brutal devastators willing to turn the skeletons from the Free of any different culture into ashes of the bourgeois / merchant thoughts.

During this period there was a huge decrease in the number of slaves obtained until then. It has been about 200 years of the invading slave economy staining terraces of red: east, north, south in plunder and ethnocide. To the west, during invaluable cycles where the 4 seasons coexist among the inhabitants, Arrows, blowguns, ambushes, and the jungle respond fiercely to bullets and mandates! Obtained natives die from torture, exploitation, and countless diseases brought by dirty people who arrive there. The star Abrasante little by little, with each passing of the dial, exposes with its incandescent magnificence, tribes being destroyed upstream, uprooted from their chosen existences, those that are not killed by the resistance are descended to the nuclei Cri$tões and thrown to the Jesuits for conversion, “Domestication/civilization”, however, the Manaús has been excelling in confronting and imposing strong resistance. In the meeting of the black waters with the mud is where it happens, between the Negro and Solimões rivers, resistance is eager in its formation and defense, keeping countless copper-colored nations safe for now. Reports point out that the Manaús are an extremely ferocious tribe, tactically highlighted, imposing several times, submission to the other defeated tribes. They run in dissonance, including reports of slave practices. However, also, there has been talk of the death of one of the leaders of Manaús, Huiuebene, a leader mentioned as a slave and who supposedly had disagreements with his son, a descendant who until then had been living in a different village, Ajuricaba is his name [ union of the words Ajuri (gathering) and caba (wasp), and it is known that he has a great and powerful influence on several men from all over the great region and that after the death of the leading father, this youngster returns to the tribe and is recognized, becomes Cacique. And so many have commented on the strength of this Chief, some say that he follows the tradition, others that he no longer felt well with such practices and now, vocalizes a thousand formations around. The fact is that from his recognized post, he brought together immense tanned masses in the struggle for free trade, anti-slavery, and the colonizers who devastate their lands and natural wealth.

With different tribes having joined forces with the Manaús, the Portuguese have not been able to enter the Native territories anymore. The year 1723 begins in a War of All or Nothing for the parties involved. The Invasive Portuguese Crown accuses the Manaús of infidelity, indeed they fear that the strong enemy manaús will join even more tribes and with others who also came to the region with their own interests, thus, stories are raised about the manaús trading freely with the Dutch, from Surinen territory (Suriname), and its borders, as well as handing over indigenous slaves from other rival tribes to these traditional enemies of the Portuguese. Conveniently, even if not proven, these stories serve for the Portuguese to provoke the Portuguese Crown itself to send more and more forces. Stories are spread that have never been seen before, of a manaú leader walking through the jungles with the Dutch flag, so the Portuguese of the captaincy of gran-pará (State of Pará) ask for authorization from the Portuguese crown to go declare war against the people, called by these Portuguese people “Just War”.

As the response of the Portuguese crown has been slow to arrive, the Portuguese located there, declare war on the Manaús on account. In these attacks, the son of Cacique Ajuricaba was assassinated and thus, the war took its peak between the years 1723 through 1726 until 1727 the capture of one of its main leaders, the fearless Cacique Ajuricaba took place. Chained, he begins his mortal way to be executed in Belém but on the trip, the Chief invites a rebellion, the conflict taking place onboard where the native is thrown into the river, according to official records. The rebel natives fly in the air like sparks exhaled by immense fire, versions that Ajuricaba dies in combat during the rebellion; in another, that the indigenous Cacique is murdered by the Portuguese and thrown into the river... What is known is that Ajuricaba's uprising countenance was never again reported to be seen.

The war of the Portuguese against the manaús continued successfully on the side of the Portuguese. The defeated manaús were placed in Portuguese colonial nuclei. Until in 1757, where the remaining manaús return to make new uprisings and the war returned.

The revolted Manaús promote a series of uprisings on the Negro River, involving the villages of Dari, Bararoá, Caboquema, and have as their next target, now in confederation, Mariuá. Such a rebellious movement shudders the Portuguese domain in the region again. However, once again, they are suffocated by Portuguese colonial war troops. Slavery and extortion are here to stay.

“Even so, Manaós resist the invasion of their territory with weapons in hand, however, they are completely wiped off the map (...). At the beginning of the 19th century, a small nucleus was found of the Ore-Manaó or Ere-Manaó on the left bank of the Padauiri River (approximately 250 km to 560 km from Manaus). Today, no one is left to tell the story, unknown to the population of the city that inherited its name “.

There are records of last encounters with Ere-Manaó people in 1819 around the upper Rio Negro, to have never been seen again. However, similar creatures across the centuries perpetuate the active resistance.
